Citizen of the Year Award: Alex Agius-Bersee

01.03.22

The Citizen of the Year Awards are proudly presented by the Australia Day Council of South Australia.

The awards encourage everyone to share a bit about their story, listen to the stories of others and celebrate with our community because we’re all part of the story.
The Citizen of the Year Awards reward and recognise individuals and organisations that have made a noteworthy contribution during the current year, and/or given an outstanding service to a local community.

Outstanding contribution and community service includes areas such as education, health, fund-raising, charitable and voluntary services, business, sport, arts, the environment, or any other area that contributes to the advancement and wellbeing of a community.

The Young Citizen of the Year Award considers the individual’s significant contribution to the community. An inspirational role model for the Australian community and the scope of impact the individual’s contribution has on the local government area.

As a school community we are very proud to announce that Old Scholar Alex Agius-Bersee was awarded the Young Citizen of the Year Award 2022 for his service to community and the work he does through Kura Yerlo, a leading not for profit Aboriginal owned and controlled community organisation. Kura Yerlo works towards achieving their vision of ‘walking together for a strong culture and a sustainable future’.

Congratulations Alex on your amazing achievement.
